The Goose Girl (YA, fantasy) is one of my favorite books, it is one that I could (and have) read over and over. It’s my go-to ‘I’m out of books and MUST read!’ book. ‘The Goose Girl’ was my favorite fairy tale as a child, and Hale’s retelling is stunning. Her writing pulls you into the story and her characters are warm and real. Highly recommended.

Imagine my joy when I found the wonderful Fabiola Garza (CrownJewel on deviantART) had created some illustrations based on Hale’s work.
